We departed on our Epic Asian Adventure but before we touched down in the new continent we had an eight hour layover in Nadi, Fiji.

Unlike most, we decided to leave the airport and see what this beautiful island paradise had to offer. At the arrival terminal we met a lovely local who offered to give us a guided tour of Nadi. We were only out of the airport for four and a half hours but boy did we see enough to entice us to come back.

Our tour guide took us by Sri Siva Subramaniya, the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, then carried on with a drive by of some of the islands biggest resorts. We stopped off at a few beaches and even got to dip our toes in the warm waters (we should have packed our togs in our carry on luggage). We even managed a quick stop at Port Denarau where we purchased a vodka mixer from the convenience store - very convenient - and saw some local dancing! We ended our tour we a drive through a local village where we learnt some local greetings and truely got to experience how happy these people are!
