Ben asked me to marry him and I said "yes"! Singapore will, forever, hold such a special place in my heart. I can not wait to come back to this magical place and explore more.

I guess you want to hear how it all went down though, so read on. If you haven't already read my posts about the last week of our trip, I'll break it down quickly for you: I was sick, very sick, the whole time! Ben had to work very hard the morning of our engagement to even convince we to leave the apartment. His tactics paid off though and we walked to the train station, caught a train, and arrived on Sentosa Island. Our original plan was to visit Universal Studios but I was really not feeling up for it so we decided to book a round trip island gondola ride. We hopped off at all the stops - spending time on the man-made beaches and walking through the botanical gardens.

Early afternoon arrived and we decided it was time to make the trip back to the apartment. We jumped on the last leg of our gondola journey and were promptly followed by another couple. Now, me, being the horrible person that I am (and oblivious to Ben's plans) didn't want to share this gondola ride with anyone else so I kicked them off. Ben has since told me if I hadn't have done that he certainly wouldn't have gotten down on one knee. As we were sitting 100m above the Singapore Harbour Ben started speaking a whole lot of tongue-tied, waffly sentences. He then fumbled around in his backpack and asked me to marry him. We were both a mess of emotions and of course I said "yes". It was the most special day of my life, despite being ill. Thank God for Ben's awesome convincing tactics and my horrible attitude towards the couple behind us (I am sorry whoever you are). We now have a wedding to plan!!
